Shelby Farms Parkway

Shelby Farms Parkway is a 2.5 mile parkway running from Kirby Parkway at Walnut Grove road to the intersection of Whitten Road and Macon Road. The design consists of a four-lane, median-divided, access controlled parkway. Each year, SFPC partners with Revolutions Memphis, YMCA of Memphis and the Mid-South, Peddler Bike Shop and the Memphis Hightailers Bicycle Club to identify children in need and gives them an opportunity to learn about the unique mission of Revolutions, the freedom of having a bicycle and knowing how it works. The selected children attend a very special Revolutions bike recycle workshop for a crash course in bike building, maintenance and safety. The Revolutions team emphasizes the significance of rehabilitating and rebuilding bicycles, along with the power that comes with knowing how to keep your own bike rolling. Each bike is equipped with a bell and every child receives a brand new helmet.
